Itinerary

Blues guitarist, bandleader and producer Dave Specter has earned an international reputation as one of the premier young talents on the Chicago blues scene. Since 1985 he has performed regularly at top Chicago and US nightclubs, festivals and concert halls in addition to international festival and concert appearances in England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Holland, Norway, Denmark, Brazil, Israel, Mexico and Canada.

Before forming his own band in 1989, Dave toured extensively throughout the U. S. and Europe behind such blues greats as Son Seals, The Legendary Blues Band, Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay and Steve Freund. He has also performed and/or recorded with such artists as Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rogers, Jimmy Johnson, Jack McDuff, Snooky Pryor, Kim Wilson, Lonnie Brooks, Johnny Adams, Ronnie Earl, Tad Robinson, Pinetop Perkins and Sunnyland Slim. Specter is featured on compilation CDs with artists such as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, B.B. King and Muddy Waters.

Among Specter!s critically acclaimed Delmark recordings, his 1991 release BLUEBIRD BLUES reached the #1 spot on both the Living Blues national radio charts and the Tower Records blues charts. His latest CD/DVD, LIVE IN CHICAGO received a prestigious 4 star review in Downbeat magazine and continues to get airplay and rave reviews worldwide. Dave has recently been featured in Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazines in addition to being a 5 time Critics Choice in the Chicago Reader. He’s been featured on BBC and NPR Radio along with television appearances on ABC’s Good Morning America and WTTW Chicago’s Wild Chicago and Chicago Tonight. Dave’s guitar playing can also be heard on national television and radio commercials for Kraft Foods and Northwest Airlines.
